Joy without hooks
Fun should not require addiction loops, manufactured urgency, or a feed engineered to make you feel worse so you keep scrolling.
Independent software for actual humans
We make joyful things and give them freely—without ads, surveillance, manipulation, or hidden strings.
Why we exist
Enough products that harvest attention, profile behavior, manufacture anxiety, and call it engagement. We are building in the opposite direction.
Builder of Things Studio makes software because making good things is joyful—and because people deserve technology that is simply on their side.
We have no investors demanding growth at any cost, no advertising machine to feed, and no interest in turning a person’s private life into inventory. We measure success in usefulness, delight, and trust.
People are not the product. Privacy is not a luxury. Free is not bait.
What free means here
“Free” shouldn’t mean someone quietly pays with their attention, privacy, anxiety, or dignity.
Starhop offers play for its own sake. Flashbulb offers silliness without turning a face into data inventory. Nightfall offers curiosity and wonder without monetizing it. Different products, same promise.
The deal
Fun should not require addiction loops, manufactured urgency, or a feed engineered to make you feel worse so you keep scrolling.
Collect less. Process on the device when we can. Never sell personal data. Explain the remaining plumbing in language humans can read.
No advertising tollbooth and no secret payment made in attention or identity. The thing should do what we said it would do.
We can choose craft over scale, patience over hype, and the right decision over the most profitable one. That freedom is the point.
Things we are building
PLAN THE NIGHT SKY
Astronomy planning that brings weather, moonlight, sky quality, targets, and equipment fit into one calm answer: is tonight worth it?
A TINY SPACE ADVENTURE
A quick, cheerful game about slingshotting through the solar system. No ads. No purchases. No energy meter asking you to come back later.
A SILLIER CAMERA
Camera effects and photo-booth chaos that happen on your device. Your face, your photo, and your decision about where it goes.
A different kind of business model
We can afford to make these things without squeezing the people who use them. Someday we may offer a voluntary way to help with hosting, tools, and the next strange idea.
Support will be gratitude, not leverage. It will never buy basic dignity, a tracker-free edition, or freedom from ads. Those are part of the deal for everyone.
